Enzyme immunoassay for the qualitative and semi-quantitative detection of IgG antibodies in human serum against the extracellular proteins alkaline protease, elastase and exotoxin A of Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
The determination of antibodies against the Pseudomonas antigens enables a more sensitive detection of Pseudomonas aeruginosa infections than the classical microbiological methods. In addition, the sample collection procedure is significantly less stressful for the patient. The diagnostic value has been independently confirmed by Kappler et al as well as Tramper-Stranders et al investigated and published. A review paper on the serological detection of Pseudomonas aeruginosa was published by Mauch and Levy published.
